HAITIAN MUSIC
We love Haitian music! We enjoy it, we dance it, why not learn to play it? Why not sing it? There are so many instruments (drum, keyboard, guitar, vocals, etc.) and so many styles (konpa, twoubadou, yanvalou, ibo, nago, etc.) just waiting for you! We want to see you perform Haitian music.
Since Haitian music draws its inspiration from ancestral Africa, we will also explore African instruments, rhythms and symbols in the form of workshops.
Come and enjoy the diversity and pleasure of interpreting Haitian music!

OUR BASIC PROGRAM
I've been taking Haitian percussion lessons at the Centre Toussaint for several sessions. My sense of rhythm has changed in unexpected ways.
Once our music lesson is over, we stay and play for the dance and singing lessons. I love this synergy. It’s very motivating. We practice on site.
I enrolled my son in music lessons and he really enjoyed it. A great place to put your energy, creativity and get closer to culture at the same time!
I have always been a part of church choirs. It is a pleasure for me to sing more diverse songs and to vibe with the other members of the band.
