Through our goals and mission, we often cross paths with other organizations that share our goals and passion and as a result, opportunities and unique activities arise. We are particularly proud of our presence in Collège Ahuntsic.

First of all, allow me to introduce you to the Centre Toussaint! We started our activities in all shyness before being legally registered in 2019. We are evolving step by step and above all we have mostly survived the 2020 pandemic which hardly hit a lot of organizations and businesses. Our main objectives are the promotion of the learning of Haitian Creole, the encouragement of spreading Haitian culture and international cultural cooperation. The Collège Ahuntsic

Through our goals and mission, we often cross paths with other organizations that share our goals and passion and as a result, opportunities and unique activities arise. Therefore, since September 2021, the Centre Toussaint has been offering a Haitian Creole course to students at Collège Ahuntsic. Established in 1967, the Collège Ahuntsic is one of the first 12 CEGEPs in Montreal. With a diverse and multicultural population, including a large group of students of Haitian origin, Collège Ahuntsic wants to have rich, diverse and inclusive programs.

The course offered

With this course, the college offers an instruction on the history, on the Haitian culture and the promotion of the reflection on the cohabitation of other languages with the French of Quebec. This is a big step in the process of promoting non-European languages. It is therefore a great honor for the Center Toussaint to collaborate with Collège Ahuntsic. I would tell you it is a promising collaboration, because we also took part in the semaine des rendez-vous autochtones et interculturels, which took place from October 18th to 25th, 2021, at the college, by presenting an initiation workshop to the Creole language and Haitian culture.
