SLY TOUSSAINT VS TOUSSAINT LOUVERTURE

Today is April 7. It is a special day because it the 216th death anniversary of Toussaint Louverture. But, who is Toussaint Louverture?

He was born in 1743. He died in 1803 at the age of sixty years old. Still, many years of dedication and work for the Haitian nation.

They call him the precursor of the independence of Haiti. Why precursor? Because he died in 1803 and the independence took place on January 1st, 1804, 8 months later. Unfortunately, he could not see the independence he had worked so hard for.

Today, 216 years later, we are still talking about Toussaint. We still commemorate him. His name is well alive in our thoughts and hearts.

I am very proud to bear his name. I am Sly Toussaint, a Specialist in personal growth and Haitian culture. I am proud to have built a company which also bears his name: the Centre Toussaint.
